When did you know you wanted to make music?

When I was 13 I was in a band called the Modern Colony — great name. My mate Luke played bass and wrote our songs and [I] realized I wanted to write songs.

How did the BRIT school influence your work, and what kind of impact did it have on you? What did going there mean for you?

It was an important time in my life, I had just moved to London and everything was different. Definitely being around those creative people made a big impact on me, don’t know if I realized it at the time though.

What are your biggest influences?

Tracy chapman, Thom Yorke, Conor Oberst, Imogen heap.

How would you describe your sound to someone who's never heard it?

I don’t know about genre, I’m just writing a story really. Fuzz soul pop stories.

We loved the first single, "Bad Ideas." What's next on the horizon for you (that you can share with us)?

I’m releasing new music very soon.
